Criminology and Law Studies Major

About our program

Investigate the causes and prevention of criminal behavior, the interaction between crime and law, and how and why the criminal justice system works the way it does. Here, you’ll learn from some of the nation’s leading criminology and law studies scholars and professionals. And you’ll have a chance to research and work alongside them.

If you're interested in going to law school, this major will prepare you well. You can also enter the Accelerated Degree Program in criminal justice data analytics during your junior year and earn your undergraduate and graduate degrees in just five years.

Regardless of the direction you take your degree, you’ll graduate with the values-based foundation you can only get at Marquette — which means you’ll know exactly how to use what you’ve learned to bring justice to the world and advance the greater good.
