Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award

George JuettenGeorge H. Juetten, Bus Ad '69
Boise, Idaho

Count globetrotting among George’s greatest passions. The retired 40-year veteran financial services executive is happiest when he’s working and traveling internationally, meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures.

George’s career has facilitated much of his travel opportunities. He retired as executive vice president and CFO of Boise-based Washington Group International, now AECOM, which provided integrated engineering, construction, and management services to businesses and governments around the world.

A CPA, George began his career in 1969 at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he spent nearly a quarter century, including a three-year tour in the Hague, Netherlands. He then joined Dallas-based Dresser Industries Inc., where, as executive vice president and CFO, he facilitated Dresser’s merger with Halliburton.

Today, George is on the board of directors of the Seaspan Corp., an international company that owns and charters large container ships to mostly Chinese shipping companies. He has also served on boards for the St. Alphonsus Health System in Boise, the College of Idaho, Boise State University and the Boise Philharmonic.

In what he calls “a most rewarding endeavor,” he and his wife, Sondra, spend much of their time developing scholarship programs in his hometown of Rhinelander, Wis., as well as at Marquette and Boise State University, located in the Juettens’ adopted hometown.
