Susan K. Allen, Arts '02, Law '06
Waukesha, Wis.
Susan fondly remembers her sports law experience at Marquette, but it was a first-year torts class that may have inspired her to the area of law in which she practices today.
鈥淚 remember reading cases about things that could really happen in everyday life, and seeing how the legal principles applied to them,鈥 she says.
Susan is a partner at Stafford Rosenbaum LLP. She recently was named practice team leader for the firm鈥檚 litigation team. Her practice includes commercial litigation, with a focus on automobile product liability.
鈥淚t may be a vehicle accident where I work with engineering, biomechanical and other experts who reconstruct the accident and explain precisely what occurred through the crash, or it may be learning about a client鈥檚 business and how a breach of contract affected them,鈥 she says. 鈥淣o matter the situation, I always learn something new in every case.鈥
Susan also volunteers with the Milwaukee Justice Center, the Junior League of Milwaukee and the Holton Street Clinic.
鈥淭he fact that Marquette and the Law School are so integrated into the Milwaukee community and offer so many chances to give back made that something that inherently became part of my career as a lawyer,鈥 she says. 鈥淎t the same time, many of those opportunities allowed me to make connections and gain experience.鈥
Fun Fact:
