History: Founded in Quebec, Canada, 1850, the Sisters of St. Anne established its provinces, 1896, which included St. Joseph’s for Western Canada and St. Marie for the United States. Sisters from St. Joseph’s Province staffed a Catholic mission, school, and orphanage for Native Americans in Alaska:
