History: Washington was erected as the Archdiocese of Washington-Baltimore, 1939, which separated from Baltimore, 1947. The Washington Archdiocese comprises the District of Columbia and nearby counties in Maryland. Washington and its predecessors have served the following parishes and a school with Native Americans:
