History: St. Lawrence Church, Mountain Village, Kusilvak Census Area, Alaska, has been a predominantly Native American (Yupik Eskimo) parish at the foot of Azachorok Mountain in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta and in the Diocese of Fairbanks (Archives: Fairbanks, Alaska).

Jesuits (Turin, Canada, California, Oregon Provinces) (Archives: St. Louis, Missouri; Montreal, Quebec) at St. Mary’s, Akulurak, attended to Mountain Village station (Yupik Eskimo)

1921-2000

Jesuits established and administered St. Lawrence/ St. Barbara Church (Yupik Eskimo)

1920s?-1990s?

Sisters of St. Ann (unknown) and Sisters of St. Joseph (unknown) served the parishioners of St. Lawrence

1990s-present

Permanent deacons (Yupik Eskimo) and lay administrators (Yupik Eskimo) have served the parish and provided day-to-day administration

2000s-present

Visiting Fairbanks diocesan priests and diocesan ministry team members have ministered to St. Lawrence
