History: Immaculate Conception Church, Bethel, has been a predominantly Native American (Yupik Eskimo) parish on the lower Kushokwim River in the Diocese of Fairbanks (Archives: Fairbanks, Alaska).

1890-1943

Jesuits (Turin, Canada, California, Oregon Provinces) (Archives: St. Louis, Missouri; Montreal, Quebec) at Holy Cross, Holy Cross, and St. Joseph’s, Tununak, visited Bethel station (Yupik Eskimo)

1943-2000s

Jesuits established and have administered Immaculate Conception Church (Yupik Eskimo)

1995-present

Permanent deacons (Yupik Eskimo) and lay administrators (Yupik Eskimo) have served the parish and provided day-to-day administration

2000s-present

Visiting Fairbanks diocesan priests and diocesan ministry team members have ministered to Immaculate Conception

Jesuits from Immaculate Conception, Bethal, attended the following Native (Yupik Eskimo) missions:

1943-1968 (transferred to St. Theresa, Aniak)
