History of St. Peter Mission School, Bapchule, Pinal County, Arizona, has been a predominantly Native American (Pima) mission and school on the Gila River Reservation and in the Diocese of Phoenix (Archives: Phoenix, Arizona).

1873-1890s

Tucson diocesan priests at Assumption Church, Florence, visited the Gila River Reservation (Pima)

Franciscans (St. John the Baptist Province) (Archives: Cincinnati, Ohio; archives bulk: St. Michaels, Arizona, and Tucson, Arizona) established and administered St. Peter Mission (Pima), Sacaton/ Bapchule

Franciscans (Santa Barbara Province) (Archives: Santa Barbara, California) administered St. Peter Mission

Lay teachers (Pima) established and staffed St. Peter Mission School (Pima)
