History: St. Mary Mission, Red Lake, Red Lake Reservation, Minnesota, has been a predominantly Native American (Ojibwa) parish in the Diocese of Crookston (Archives: Crookston, Minnesota).

1858-1867

From St. Francis Xavier Church, Crow Wing, Rev. Francis Pierz and Rev. Lawrence Lautishar established Red Lake station (Ojibwa), which Rev. Pierz attended

1867-1875

Rev. Joseph Buh attended Red Lake station from Holy Family Church, Belle Prairie

1875-1879

Rev. Ignatius Tomazin attended Red Lake station from White Earth

1879-1883

Rev. Tomazin established and administered St. Ignatius Church (Ojibwa), Red Lake

1883-1888

Benedictines (St. John's Abbey) (Archives: Collegeville, Minnesota) at St. Benedict's, White Earth, attended to St. Ignatius

B. Videotape, 1958, 30 minutes: created by Rev. Alban Fruth and portrays Ojibwa Indian children at St. Mary Mission School in activities such as an Indian powwow and views of the mission and school
