History: St. John the Baptist Church, Ohkay Owingeh, New Mexico, has been a predominantly Native American (Tewa) parish in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is one of the oldest continually active Catholic parishes in the United States.

1598-1680, 1692-1852

Franciscans (Santo Evangelico Province) (Archives: Puebla, Mexico) established and administered St. John the Baptist/ San Juan de Los Caballeros Chapel (Tewa), Ohkay Owingeh/ San Juan Pueblo
