History: St. Mary Church, Lower Brule, Lower Brule Reservation, South Dakota, has been a predominantly Native American (Brulé Lakota) parish in the Diocese of Sioux Falls (Archives: Sioux Falls, South Dakota).

Benedictines (St. Meinrad Archabbey) (Archives: St. Meinrad, Indiana) at Immaculate Conception, Stephan, South Dakota, established and attended to St. Mary Mission (Brulé Lakota)

Congregation of Priests of the Sacred Heart (United States Province) (Archives: Franklin, Wisconsin) administered St. Mary Church

1942-1944

Fire destroyed St. Mary Church, which was rebuilt 2 years later

1998-2003

Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Family (Archives: Dubuque, Iowa) evangelized St. Mary’s
