History: The Diocese of Nashville was erected for all of Tennessee, 1837, from territory in the Diocese of Bardstown. Nashville lost territory for erecting other in-state dioceses, 1970-1988. It has served the following parishes with some Native American (e.g. Maya) parishioners:
