History: Founded in France, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word made their first U.S. foundation in Texas, 1866, moved to San Antonio, 1869, divided into four U.S. provinces, 1921, and have self-identified with the post-nominal initials, 鈥淐.C.V.I.鈥 They have served the following schools in Texas with students of Native American descent:
