"I'm thrilled to return to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and to support our mission of excellence, faith, leadership and service," Pogodzinski said. "This is a special opportunity to work with all of Marquette's stakeholders to contribute to the success of the strategic plan, Beyond Boundaries. I'm excited and eager to ensure that Marquette continues to provide a world-class Jesuit education to our students for years to come."

Prior to that, he worked for Milwaukee-based construction and mining equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc., where he began his career in 1994 when it was then Bucyrus. He served in a variety of leadership roles including controller - business resources, controller - surface mining product group, and director of accounting.

"The search committee was so fortunate to meet with a talented slate of candidates, but ultimately Joel stood out as the right fit for Marquette at the right time," said Dr. Doug Woods, vice provost for graduate and professional studies and dean of the Graduate School, who chaired the committee. "I wish to thank Dave Lawlor for his leadership in working with us to find the perfect candidate, and I would like to applaud the entire search committee for its thoughtful and diligent approach to the process."
