MUPD to co-host youth law enforcement camp with FBI for second year

MILWAUKEE — The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Police Department will co-host the Future Law Enforcement Youth Academy with the Milwaukee field office of the FBI July 8-12 on the Marquette campus.

The FLEYA program is a five-day law enforcement youth educational camp presented in partnership with the other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Led by sworn law enforcement officers. FLEYA will include classroom sessions, practical exercises, light physical activity, social events, and a community service project. Sessions include evidence response, self defense and personal safety basics, secret service, and drug enforcement. 

Thirty high school students, 15 male and 15 female, from the state of Wisconsin are chosen for the event. 

This is the second year of the FEYLA program in Wisconsin; it drew over 100 qualified applicants its first year. Applications with a deadline of April 5.
