Program-level Student Learning Outcomes
Program learning outcomes (or student learning outcomes, SLOs) are statements that describe the key observable and measurable knowledge, abilities, or dispositions a program expects students to acquire as a function of the experiences within that program. Outcomes are integral to a continuous assessment process.
Assessment of program learning outcomes occurs at multiple levels: the course, major, program or unit, Marquette Core Curriculum, co-curricular program or experience, and institutional levels; and for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. The Office of Assessment focuses primarily on the assessment, innovation, improvement, and excellence of educational and developmental experiences at the major-level and above. The assessment of program learning outcomes is a critical component of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ's accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
