The Electronic Technology Accessibility Committee (ETAC), in consultation with other members from the Marquette community, including faculty, have created an Accessible Technology Policy which outlines the Electronic Information Technology guidelines with which all members of the Marquette community, must comply to ensure access to electronic information and technology the university offers. ETAC, along with the entire Marquette community, will embrace the necessary actions to ensure compliance with of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended, and .
Essentially, all members of the Marquette community are involved in ensuring EIT is accessible; Marquette web developers, content managers, IT personnel and anyone who purchases EIT-related products on behalf of the university. All faculty, staff and students who use EIT for teaching and/or content distribution are responsible for ensuring that equitable access is the norm. From fall 2017 onward, all courses that are taught must meet university expectations for equitable access for EIT.
In 2016, President Michael R. Lovell charged the ETAC with creating and facilitating the implementation of a university policy. This policy will ensure all electronic information produced by members of the Marquette community is accessible. The ETAC comprises representatives from the following units:
