Distinguished Alumna of the Year Award
Sister Candyce C. Chrystal, OSB, Ph.D., Grad ’89, ’91
Yankton, S.D.
When her religious community encouraged her to pursue an advanced degree, Sister Candyce Chrystal, OSB, was not sure she felt called to do it. She went on to earn a master’s and doctorate from the School of Education and is now a beloved teacher, mentor and education department chair at Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D.

Since being honored in 2007 as the School of Education's Young Alumnus of the Year, Mike has continued to significantly advance the field of psychology through innovative research and dedicated mentoring to the next generation of professional counselors and psychologists.
