Professor of Military Science

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Joshua A. Mayer is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii and the son of Jeffry and Naomi Mayer. He attended ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He joined the United States Army under the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) in 2007 as a Signal Officer (25A).  LTC Mayer holds a Master of Science in Information Technology (IT) with a specialization in Project Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus.

 

As a Signal Officer, his assignments include Platoon Leader and Executive Officer with the 529th Network Support Company, 214th Fires Brigade, Ft Sill, Oklahoma; Battalion S-6 with the 2nd Battalion, 4th Field Artillery Regiment, 214th Fires Brigade, Ft Sill, Oklahoma; Battalion S-4 with the 25th Signal Battalion, 160th Signal Brigade, Bagram, Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF) 12-13; Commander of 550th Signal Company, 25th Signal Battalion, 160th Signal Brigade, Kandahar, Afghanistan ISO OEF 12-13. IT Project Manager with HQ United States European Command; 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division as the Brigade S6, Ft Riley, Kansas with a rotation to Zagan, Poland in support of OPERATION ATLANTIC RESOLVE. Joint Exercise Planner with HQ United States Indo-Pacific Command. His current assignment is with United States Cadet Command as the Professor of Military Science at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in Milwaukee, WI.

 

LTC Mayer’s military education includes Basic Officer Leadership Course II, Basic Officer Leadership Course III, Signal Captains Career Course, United States Army Command and General Staff College, and the Joint and Combined Warfare School.

 

LTC Mayer’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Joint Meritorious Unit Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal. LTC Mayer is married to Mrs. Genevieve Mayer and has four children.
