Associate Professor Emeritus of Economics

Dr. McGibany joined Marquette鈥檚 economics faculty in 1983 as an assistant professor of economics and was promoted to the rank of associate professor in 1991. He served as director of the Master of Science in Applied Economics program from 2000-2002. He was the chair of the Department of Economics from 2002-2004, served as associate dean from 2004-2006, executive associate dean from 2006-2015 and a second term as chair from 2019-2023.  He has taught both the time-series econometrics and research methods courses in the Master of Science in Applied Economics program as well as introductory macroeconomics at the undergraduate level.  In addition, he helped develop the basic business analytic tools (Excel) course and the introductory Business Analytics course, both at the undergraduate level.
