Assistant Professor of Economics

Dr. Melnik joined ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in 2018. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Michigan State University, and his B.A. in Economics from Grove City College. Dr. Melnik’s research interests include public finance, political economy, urban economics, and the economics of innovation. His recent research has studied how political partisanship affects the distribution of state government expenditures, the effect of fiscal policy on innovation, and how negative labor demand shocks affect local public finance decisions.
