Undergraduate research is happening all over at Ӱ. What is undergraduate research?

According to the , undergraduate research is defined as "an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline." 

Undergraduate research has been identified as a high-impact practice as it is known to: 

  • enhance student learning through mentoring relationships with faculty
  • increase retention and graduation in academic programs
  • increase enrollment in graduate education and provides effective career preparation
  • develop critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and intellectual independence
  • develop an understanding of research methodology
  • promote an innovation-oriented culture  

 
What research have Marquette students been doing?

MU4Gold Scholars Program offers intellectually curious, highly motivated students the chance to engage in the process of research and discovery with Marquette faculty as soon as they arrive on campus.
