Dr. Sarah Feldner is acting provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Previously she served as dean of the J. William and Mary Diederich College of Communication and as associate dean for graduate studies and research in the college.
Since joining Marquette’s faculty in 2002, Feldner has developed a depth of institutional knowledge that she uses in service to its community through leadership and committee work as well as supporting interdisciplinary partnerships across campus. Feldner oversaw the Marquette Core Curriculum as its director after working on the Core of Common Studies Review Committee as well as leading the Core Revision Facilitation Group. Additionally, Feldner has chaired the University Board of Undergraduate Studies, worked closely with the Center for Teaching and Learning, and participated in faculty programming through the Office of Mission and Ministry.
Deeply committed to teaching and student success, Feldner was honored with the Raynor Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence in 2012 and received the Diederich College of Communication Dean’s Recognition Award for Teaching Excellence in 2004. In addition, Feldner is a member of the National Communication Association, International Communication Association, Central States Communication Association and Arthur W. Page Society. She also serves on the Froedtert Hospital Board of Directors and as an associate editorial board member of Communication Studies and Management Communication Quarterly.
As a researcher, Feldner focuses on corporate communication, organizational communication, mission, and identity. She earned a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky, a master of arts degree from Indiana University, and a Ph.D. in organizational communication from Purdue University.
