Do you, or someone you know, have special knowledge, expertise or experience you'd like to share? Our pastoral leadership program looks to you in helping us to form early career pastors from Southeastern Wisconsin to be leaders in their congregations, parishes and communities. Here's how you can help.
The Pastoral Leadership in a Cultural Context program centers around quarterly, two or three day summit meetings, at which cohort members come together to study and reflect upon cultural issues of pressing concern to their work of pastoral ministry. An important goal of these summits is to give the participants, as much as possible, a first-hand or insider knowledge of the challenges and experiences arising from the cultural context of those to whom they minister.
We are looking for Marquette faculty with expertise or experience in these areas of cultural concern, to join us for one or more of our summits.
Do you have a research project or special expertise you feel would be helpful? Have you had a particularly successful service learning project or other classroom experience that you’d like to share?
The Pastoral Leadership in a Cultural Context program centers around quarterly, two or three day summit meetings, at which cohort members come together to study and reflect upon cultural issues of pressing concern to their work of pastoral ministry.
An important goal of the summits is to bring pastoral leaders into dialogue with business leaders, in order to gain a deeper understanding of the pressing social and cultural issues facing the people of Wisconsin, to build a network with business leaders and achieve a level of comfort in interacting with them, and to learn effective leadership skills and strategies from experienced leaders.
We are looking for local business leaders who are passionate about working to improve their communities; experienced leaders and problem solvers; businessmen and women who understand the value of dialogue between faith and culture, who are committed to social justice in Wisconsin.
Do you have a leadership strategy, or experience you would like to share? Has your business experience given you some insight into the cultural challenges facing your community, customers and colleagues? Are there issues unique to the business world you would like the religious leaders in your community to know?
The Pastoral Leadership in a Cultural Context program centers around quarterly, two or three-day summit meetings, at which cohort members come together to study and reflect upon cultural issues of pressing concern to their work of pastoral ministry.
The program seeks to address not only the personal faith formation of the participating ministers but also to support and enhance their vocations as leaders of leaders in the wider community where faith and culture often collide. Of course, they need not collide: the concerns of social justice in the community are shared by us all. Thus an important goal of the summits is to bring pastoral leaders into dialogue with community leaders, in order to gain a deeper understanding of the pressing social and cultural issues facing the people of Wisconsin, from their particular experience and viewpoint.
We are looking for local civic leaders who are passionate about social justice in their communities, who have insights into these issues gleaned from their experience in public service, effective leaders who understand the value of dialogue between faith and culture for the common good.
Ready to get involved? To share your unique insights, leadership strategy, or experience with talented, motivated religious leaders?
