Planning a Sorority and Fraternity Life Event

Please utilize this website as a guide to planning a successful event. We ask that you are mindful of not only paperwork procedures and deadlines, but also the risk management policy guidelines that are set in place to help your chapter host a safe event!

If planning an on campus event please follow the Student Organization Policy on Hosting Events. 

When planning an off campus event, there are two types of off campus events: Third Party Vendor and BYOB. Please follow the Risk Management Policy for more information on planning these events. 

All forms can be turned by the due date listed below either in person by 4:30pm in AMU 121 or electronically to greeklife@marquette.edu

 

Steps to Planning an Off Campus Event:

Step 1: Complete a Event Registration Form on MARQUEE

The Event Registration Form must be completed at least seven business days prior to the event.


Step 2: Complete a Social Event Registration Form

The Social Event Registration Form must be completed and returned to the Sorority & Fraternity Life (SFL) Office at least seven business days prior to the event.

Step 3: If at Complete a Third Party Vendor Responsibility Form

For third party vendor events, the chapter must turn in the 蜜桃影像 Third Party Vendor Responsibility Form and proof of insurance to the SFL Office at least seven days prior to the event.

Step 4: Complete the Risk Assessment Form

Complete this form at least five days before your event.

Step 5: Complete a Social Event Invitation List

Section I of the Social Event Invitation List must be completed and returned to the SFL Office at least three business days prior to the event. A photocopy of the list will be made and a copy will be provided to the sponsoring organization(s) for completion of Section II at the event.

Step 6: Review the Risk Management Procedures

Be sure to review the risk management policies and procedures outlined below.

Step 7: Enjoy Your Event!

Be sure to have guests complete and sign Section II of the Social Event Invitation List as they arrive to your event. For all events, members can list a 鈥済uest鈥 on the Invitation List provided. The 鈥済uest鈥 will print and sign their name on Section II of the Invitation List at the time of the event.


Step 8: Return Your Fully Completed and Signed Social Event Invitation List

The fully completed Social Event Invitation List must be returned to SFL two business day following the event.

Risk Management Policy

The purpose of our Risk Management Policy is three-fold:

  1. Reduce risk and liability at sorority/fraternity/council functions.
  2. Assist social fraternities, sororities, and/or councils in the planning and execution of safe social functions.
  3. Increase awareness about the level of risk that occurs at fraternity/sorority functions and to educate fraternities/sororities on best practices to reduce risk.
