Student Organization Training Schedule
As has been communicated previously, all organizations are required to participate in training a minimum of three training sessions. These opportunities are aimed at developing organization officers as leaders as well as helping you to manage your organization. (See the September Newsletter for requirements.)

Policy Highlights
Publicity and Posting Materials
All student organization publicity must be approved by AMU Student Engagement Services prior to campus posting. This approval is certification that the sponsoring organization has met the following applicable conditions established by AMU Student Engagement Services. Authorization may be refused if one or more of these conditions have not been met. This authorization is neither an endorsement of the activities nor of the subjective quality of the publicity, but rather allows the sponsoring organization to publicize events in accordance with these procedures.
The following must be indicated on all materials to be posted:
- the full name of the sponsoring organization
- the time, date and place of the event
- any entrance fees or costs to participate
- University speaker literature statement when required.
When posting in any area, local regulations supersede those set by AMU Student Engagement Services. It is the responsibility of the organization initiating the publicity to comply with such regulations. Students wishing to post advertisements and notices in buildings other than in the AMU facilities are urged to check with the appropriate college or departmental secretaries or building supervisors for rules governing posting in that building or area.
Only officially recognized ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ student organizations may advertise functions or activities within the campus area. Occasionally, when the interest to Marquette students would be great, small notices, either commercial or from other universities, may be posted if authorized.

Food Policies
The "AMU Operating and Room Rental Policy" notes that ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Catering provides catering for campus venues; including outdoor spaces. There are particular spaces where only Catering Services can provide food, including the AMU Ballrooms, the Lunda Room, Innovation Kitchen, and Marquette Place.
Other spaces allow for the use of outside catering, (by a licensed provider), but your organization is responsible for set-up; providing plates, silverware, serving utensils, and napkins; and for all clean-up.
Additionally, the Campus Food Provider Guidelines specify that food may only be provided/prepared by a licensed food vendor. Student organization are not allowed to sell foods they have prepared themselves.

Sponsorship of Political Activities During an Election Season
Prior to an election, AMU Student Engagement Services may designate a period of time during which all events that are political in nature must be reviewed and approved by AMU Student Engagement Services before any reservation (tentative or confirmed) can be made by the AMU Event Management office or other campus scheduling officials. Events that are political in nature are defined as any event that features a political candidate as a speaker, panelist, or special guest; promotes the interest of any political campaign; or features an issue-driven speaker or agenda. All approved events must be congruent with the policies, objectives, and mission of the University.
