College of Nursing Award Recipients

Lifetime Achievement Award

SISTER M. ROSALIE KLEIN, OSF, NURS '52, GRAD '60
Milwaukee

As if being dean of Marquette’s College of Nursing for 20 years wasn’t already legacy enough, Sister Rosalie was the one responsible for moving the college from the St. Joseph’s Hospital campus to Marquette. She remains close to the college, including working on its 75th anniversary celebration.

Distinguished Alumna of the Year Award

DR. PATRICIA LAUER BERTSCHE, NURS '76
Lake Forest, Ill.

鈥淒o it right and do it safely鈥 isn鈥檛 so much advice as it is a lifetime commitment for Pat, who introduced ergonomic interventions for worker safety and health while with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and established the Institute for Ergonomics at Ohio State University.

Distinguished Alumna in Service to Nursing Award

 MARY CORRIGAN CARY, NURS '72
Mequon, Wis.

A nurse since 1972, Mary knows her way around a hospital: pediatrics, intensive care, hospice, adult oncology, hematology. But nothing beats the time she spends in the grandmother department.

Friends of the College of Nursing Award

WILLIAM A. KLUG, ENG '59, and CAROL A. KLUG
Rubicon, Wis.

Bill and Carol turned the death of Bill鈥檚 aunt into the birth of a wonderful scholarship in her name. The Ann Rehberg End of Life Care Scholarship benefits Marquette nursing students studying palliative care.
