Dean Lobb

Dear Alumni –

As my term as the dean of this proud School of Dentistry draws to a close, I’m looking ahead to the final month and look forward to the new adventures to come. Since my retirement announcement, I’ve enjoyed seeing many of you at events, sharing experiences and talking about the future.

As I officially move on and the university welcomes the next dean, I want you to know that my heart will always be a part of this dental school that’s so vital to the community, state and nation in securing health and wellbeing – and the future of the dental profession.

I hope to see you at the retirement celebration on June 29 as I say my final farewell to you all in this leadership role that I’ve been fortunate to contribute to over these many years.

It will be exciting to see the fresh ideas a new dean will bring to the school as I pass the baton. It’s been my honor to serve in this role. Thank you.

Dr. William Lobb

DEVELOPMENT

There’s No Lack of Activity Within Our Walls

At the time of this writing, our D4 class was preparing for its graduation, which took place on May 20. At the same time, we’re finalizing our D1 class to join us in three months.

Since the beginning of March, travels brought me to Florida to meet several alums, and back in Wisconsin, life has brought me to Madison, the Fox Valley, Kenosha and throughout metro Milwaukee.

This is an exciting time for our school as we honor Dean Lobb and his 30-plus years of service to MUSoD – while welcoming a new dean this summer. All this activity brings an additional level of excitement to the school.

As an alum, you have a wonderful opportunity to engage with our students – who eventually will become co-workers and even your business partners. Mentoring one of our current students or even teaching a class are a handful of ways to do this.

All of this to say: We need you! Come see your school, come meet the students, come see the new spaces.

Please take pride as an alum of the only dental school in Wisconsin, it’s undoubtedly an important place for our city and state. Your advocacy, your mentorship of future dentists, your support and influence are critical to our ability to thrive far into the future.

Our doors are open.
