Pi Mu Epsilon Honorary Society

Pi Mu Epsilon, Inc (PME), is the Honorary National Mathematics Society. It was founded on May 25, 1914 at Syracuse University and currently has over 300 chapters at colleges and universities throughout the United States. The purpose of PME is the promotion of scholarly activity in mathematics among the students in academic institutions. An initiation ceremony is slated twice a year.

Putnam Exam

Each first Saturday of December, the MAA holds the  for regularly enrolled undergraduates in colleges and universities of the United States and Canada.

There are two ways for Marquette undergraduates to register:

  1. Before the end of September, prospective students contact the Math office at Cudahy Hall room 340 to find out which faculty member is the designated Marquette Putnam Representative. Then contact this MPR for final registration information.
  2. Register for fall 1-credit course MATH 3977.
