Clinical Associate Professor

Physical Therapy

Kathleen Lukaszewicz graduated from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ with a bachelor’s degree in history (2002) and a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2004. After three years as a full-time clinician, Dr. Lukaszewicz began her doctoral studies at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI under the guidance of Dr. Julian Lombard. She was an American Heart Association predoctoral fellow and conducted research on vascular biology and the changes in endothelial function associated with hypertension. Dr. Lukaszewicz received her PhD in Physiology in May 2012.

Dr. Lukaszewicz joined the faculty of Marquette’s Physical Therapy Department in 2012. Dr. Lukaszewicz’s passion is teaching the next generation of physical therapy students in the areas of pathophysiology, exercise physiology, and rehabilitation strategies for patients suffering from cardiac and pulmonary dysfunction. Dr. Lukaszewicz has been honored by the College of Health Sciences with the Dorothy H. Wood Excellence in Teaching Award and by the University with the John P. Raynor, S.J. Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence. She currently collaborates with Drs. Sandra Hunter and Chris Sundberg to study vascular mechanisms of skeletal muscle fatigue in both the aging adult and patients with diabetes.
