2024 SPARK

SPARK offers students and their families the opportunity to prepare for their upcoming transition to Ӱ. Students will learn more about Marquette's Jesuit mission and what it means to be a member of the Marquette community as they prepare to go forth to set the world on fire.

The SPARK schedule is outlined below and will be available via the Marquette Guide prior to SPARK. Download the Marquette Guide app to your phone by going directly to the  or  and searching for Marquette Guide!

Information about SPARK and from your college will be coming to your Marquette email. Review tips about how to log in.


PARKING

Students and guests can park in the Wells Street Parking Structure, #67, or the 16th Street Parking Structure, #55.  See both structures as indicated on the Campus Map.  Please note for the 16th Street Parking Structure, you may only enter and exit via 16th Street, due to construction, you will not be able to access 17th Street.

Once you have deposited to Ӱ, register for SPARK by accessing your Admitted Student Portal. Login using your Marquette email and password. 

To register for SPARK, navigate to the “Next Steps” tab in the portal. Next, click on “Register for SPARK”. Choose which on campus SPARK date works best for you or the SPARK @ Home virtual option. Fill out your information and submit. 

Area hotels tend to book quickly; out-of-town students and families are encouraged to reserve a hotel room well in advance.

SPARK Student and Family Check In

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM | Alumni Memorial Union

Check in for students and guests will begin at 10:00 am in the Lynch Lounge on the 3rd floor of the Alumni Memorial Union. At check in, students will receive their name tag and connect with a SPARK Leader. Students and guests will receive a SPARK folder with additional resources for the day. 


Programs and Services Fair 

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM | Alumni Memorial Union

After SPARK Check-In, head right into the Ballrooms on the 3rd floor of the Alumni Memorial Union for the Programs & Services Fair, featuring campus resources, departments, and more! This fair concludes at 11:00 am, and the Welcome will begin promptly at 11:00 am in the Varsity Theatre.

Welcome Class of 2028 to the Marquette Community! Hear how our Jesuit mission impacts all we do in and out of the classroom. MU Informational Sessions

2:45 PM & 3:45 PM | Alumni Memorial Union 

Looking for more information on some of our most frequently asked about departments? MU Informational Sessions will provide further information about these departments and allow you to ask questions about different programs, processes, and initiatives.

Each of the presentations will be presented twice. The first presentation will begin at 2:45 pm. The second presentation will begin at 3:45 pm. The same information will be covered in both presentations. Students and families can go to the same presentations or divide and conquer to gain the most information. 

Special note: The Spanish Family Resource presentations will be different at 2:45 PM and 3:45 PM. The 2:45 PM presentation will be the Academic Resource Center. The 3:45 PM presentation will be Financial Aid.

Dining Showcase 

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM | Alumni Memorial Union 

Join MU Dining for a Dining Showcase in the Ballrooms on the 3rd floor of the Alumni Memorial Union. This showcase will give SPARK participants a taste of what students can expect during their first year from their meal plans. The showcase features everything from coffee from The Brew to different options in the residence halls.  


MU Choose Your Own Adventures 

5:00 PM - 6:30 PM | Alumni Memorial Union 

Join New Student and Family Programs for a MU Choose Your Own Adventures. For more information on each of the Adventures being offered, please see the tabs below.

  • Union Sports Annex Bowling 

Location: The Union Sports Annex USA Court

Time: 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

In partnership with the Campus Activities Board, new students and guests can head to the Union Sports Annex to participate in Trivia and learn about the Campus Activities Board and the events/activities they host on campus throughout the year. Participants in Trivia will have the chance to win prizes! 

Groups for trivia can be no larger than 6 people. 

 

Location: Check in for tours will be on the 2nd floor of the Alumni Memorial Union

Time: 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm. Tours will depart every 15 minutes starting at 5:00 pm. Please note the 5:30 pm tour will be for Spanish speaking students and families. The last tour will leave at 5:45 pm. 

Led by SPARK Leaders - Campus Up Close Tours will provide students and their guests with the opportunity to take an in-depth tour of some of the most popular campus attractions. Groups will stop at various locations on the tour and be given more information on Marquette resources. 

Resources include: Medical Clinic, Counseling Center, Student Wellness and Health Promotion, Campus Safety, Town Bank & Campus Ministry.

Location: Check in for tours will be on the 2nd floor of the Alumni Memorial Union

Time: 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

In partnership with the Office of Residence Life, students and their guests can take a peek inside a residence hall on Marquette's campus. Students will be able to see common spaces and a residence hall room.  

Location: West Town Square (Grass area in front of the Alumni Memorial Union)

Time: 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

In partnership with Campus Recreation, students and families can partake in some friendly competition by participating in fun outdoor games such as Corn Hole, Spike Ball, and organized sports.
