The Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) program offers a wide variety of graduate assistantships each year. Each position has a unique compensation package with a mixture of tuition credits and stipend amounts. Please continue to check back for updates and additions to our assistantship list.
Graduate Assistant for Academic Resource Center
The Graduate Assistant for the Academic Resource Center (ARC) will provide both direct service to students, as well as perform a variety of administrative duties related to the ongoing operations of ARC. This will include one-on-one academic coaching with students, academic programming, creating marketing materials, assisting with the MARQ 1030 Academic Recovery course, and carrying out duties as assigned by the Graduate Assistant’s supervisor – the Assistant Director of the Academic Resource Center.
In addition to these roles, the Graduate Assistant will work closely with the entire ARC staff in delivering services to Marquette students. The main functions of the office are to offer tutoring, academic coaching, and retention initiatives in collaboration with the Lemonis Center for Student Success (LCSS) and the Career Center.
Remuneration: 12 tuition credits (6 per semester) and a $20,000 stipend*
Graduate Assistant for AMU - Marketing & Commuter Services
The Graduate Assistant serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week and reports to the Assistant Director of the Alumni Memorial Union. The GA will primarily work in the Division of Student Affairs Marketing office overseeing the project request process, serving as the commuter student association advisor, and supervising a student staff. While not necessary for the position, someone with an interest in graphic design, creativity, and social media would do well in this assistantship. The GA is responsible for commuter student support, staff development, social media planning, and collaboration with key partners to produce marketing materials for events across campus. The GA is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the University.

Graduate Assistant for AMU - Student Leadership
The Graduate Assistant serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week and reports to the Assistant Director, AMU. This individual is responsible for several on-going and short-term projects that advance the vision of the AMU, which include working with the AMU student leadership program on leadership development, employee engagement, and employment competency development of students, assisting with the fall Olson Leadership Institute, spring wellbeing leadership retreat, and the divisional student leadership awards. The Graduate Assistant is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the University as well as the principles of student development theory.

Graduate Assistant for AMU - Student Organizations
The Graduate Assistant for Student Organizations serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week and reports to the Coordinator for Student Organizations and Campus Activities. This individual is responsible for several ongoing and short-term projects that support student organizations and their programming at Marquette. Additionally, this individual may assist in the design and implementation of peer education, leadership development, intercultural engagement, and community service programs for students and student organizations. The period of employment will extend over the course of the academic year and may possibly include times for personnel or student training and development of office initiatives prior to the start of classes and extending beyond the end of classes, as necessary. The Graduate Assistant for Student Organizations is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the University as well as the principles of student development theory be mindful of multiple and intersecting identities of our students and work to develop programming, promote dialogue around social justice topics, and advocate for the inclusion of all students at Marquette.

Graduate Assistant for COED - Advising and Support Services
The Office of Teacher Education in the College of Education serves as the focal point for undergraduate student advising and support services for students who are Elementary, Secondary, or Educational Studies majors. After undergoing advising training, the graduate assistant will work closely with the Assistant Dean for Advising and Student Services in a variety of activities related to advising and student support services, including group and individual advising, meetings with prospective students and their parents, event planning, and updating of advising materials for students and faculty. 
Remuneration: 6 tuition credits (3 per semester) and a $10,000 stipend*
Graduate Assistant for Community Service - Outreach and Recruitment
The Graduate Assistant serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week and reports to the Director of Community Service and Social Responsibility. This individual is responsible for working with staff, students, and partners to promote intentional social responsibility and civic engagement experiences that promote a commitment to justice and community engagement. This individual will be the lead coordinator for Marquette Volunteer Corps, in which small teams of students volunteer weekly at a variety of local nonprofits with a heavy focus on student leadership and reflection. Additionally, as part of a team of student affairs specialists, this individual may assist in the design and implementation of peer education, leadership development, and justice-related engagement for students.

Graduate Assistant for Community Service - Staff Manager and Events
The Graduate Assistant serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week and reports to the Director of Community Service and Social Responsibility. This individual is responsible for working with staff, students, and community partners to develop intentional community service and social justice experiences that promotes a commitment to justice and community. This individual will serve as the Staff Manager; overseeing hiring, training, support, community-building, and evaluation of student employees. The Graduate Assistant will also take a leadership role in Center for Community Service events such as Milwaukee Excursions: Connect & Serve, Make a Difference Day, Marquette Community Day of Service, and Community Service Fairs, working closely with student leaders, student program assistants, and community partners. The Graduate Assistant is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the University as well as the principles of student development theory.

Graduate Assistant for Cultural Engagement
The Graduate Assistant for Cultural Engagement serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week. This individual is responsible for several long-term and short-term projects, which may include educational and social programming, student leadership development, and event staffing. The period of employment will extend over the course of the academic year and may possibly include times for personnel or student training and development of office initiatives. The Graduate Assistant is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the values of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and the Division of Belonging and Student Affairs.

Graduate Assistant for LGBTQ+ Initiatives
The Graduate Assistant for LGBTQ+ Initiatives serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week and reports to an Assistant Director within the Office of Inclusion and Belonging. This individual is responsible for several ongoing and short-term projects, which may include educational and social programming, supervision, and event staffing. The period of employment extends over the academic year and may include personnel or student training and development of office initiatives. The Graduate Assistant is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the values of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and the Division of Belonging & Student Affairs.

Graduate Assistant for OYM - Coaching and Administration Support
On Your Marq is a college success program designed to assist neurodivergent students in navigating the college landscape at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, formal and informal support includes weekly seminars, executive functioning coaching, mental health counseling, and peer mentors to aid students in developing academic, social, and independent living skills. As a graduate assistant, your role will include working 1:1 with a small caseload of student participants to provide weekly Executive Functioning Coaching. Other assistantship duties will include working with the Director of On Your Marq to support recruitment of future cohorts and facilitate the application process of incoming students. This will involve maintaining communication with prospective and current On Your Marq families as well as maintaining internal and external campus partnerships.

Graduate Assistant for Peer Engagement
The Graduate Assistant for Peer Engagement serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week. This individual is responsible for several long-term and short-term projects, which may include educational and social programming, student leadership development, and event staffing. The period of employment will extend over the course of the academic year and may possibly include times for personnel or student training and development of office initiatives. The Graduate Assistant is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that reflects the values of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ and the Division of Belonging and Student Affairs.

Graduate Assistant for Residence Life - Assistant Hall Director
The Assistant Hall Director (AHD) holds a part-time, live-in, ten-month appointment in the Office of Residence Life as part of the Division of Student Affairs. Assistant Hall Director report to the Complex Director for the building. The Assistant Hall Director will provide help with responsibilities in the areas of student development, staff development, and hall administration. Additionally, the AHD is expected to fully participate in the programs and activities of the Office of Residence Life within the Division of Student Affairs. The Assistant Hall Director works with hall staff to help students in contributing to the development and sustenance of a community characterized by respect, caring and honesty and in advancing the campus ethos through behaviors which demonstrate respect for self, respect for others, respect for property, and respect for authority.
Remuneration: 18 credits per year (9 credits per semester), fully furnished bedroom apartment, meal plan, parking, and $9,000 stipend*
Graduate Assistant for SAHE Recruitment
The Graduate Assistant for Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) Recruitment serves a 10-month appointment working approximately 10 hours per week. The GA assists the SAHE program chair and the Assistant Director of Communications Strategy and Enrollment in the coordination of recruitment efforts for the Student Affairs in Higher Education master’s program. The GA is responsible for on-going graduate student recruitment, coordinating campus visits and recruitment events, and assisting with admissions functions to move prospective students through to matriculation.
Remuneration: 9 tuition credits (4.5 per semester) and a $10,000 stipend*
Graduate Assistant for Sorority and Fraternity Life
The Graduate Assistant serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week and reports to the Coordinator for Sorority and Fraternity Life. This individual is responsible for several on-going and short-term projects that advance the vision for sorority and fraternity life. Additionally, as part of a team of residence life specialists, this individual will assist in the design and implementation of peer education, leadership development, and community service programs for a variety of Greek letter organizations on campus. Graduate student staff will be provided opportunities as determined by the Coordinator for Sorority and Fraternity Life that enhance professional development and the priorities of the office.

Graduate Assistant for Student Wellness Programs
The Graduate Assistant for Student Wellness Programs is housed in the Center for Student Wellness and Health Promotion. This position gives a graduate the opportunity to work with Center for Student Wellness and Health Promotion team that consists of a director, coordinator of student wellness programs, other graduate assistants and undergraduate peer wellness educators. This position appointment is in alignment with the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ academic calendar and is 20 hours per week.

Inclusive Excellence Graduate Fellowship
The Inclusive Excellence Graduate Fellowship Program is designed to provide students from underrepresented, first-generation, and/or disadvantaged circumstances with the opportunity to advance their professional development by being immersed in an office dedicated to making Marquette a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable place. Sponsored by the Office of Inclusion and Belonging, the Fellow is mentored by experienced DEI professionals as they engage in meaningful activities that build their skills, knowledge, and leadership acumen.
This fellowship does NOT require work authorization
Remuneration: 18 tuition credits (9 per semester) and a $20,000 stipend*
* Stipend amounts are subject to increase. This current rate is based on this year's stipend amount. Students will be notified if a change occurs.
