April 24: Denim Day Fashion Show - 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- To raise awareness about sexual misconduct and domestic violence within queer and minority communities, the LGBTQ+ Resource Center and the Social Justice Internship Program are hosting a Denim Day Fashion Show on April 24th from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM in Weasler Auditorium.
- The event will feature a runway show, students, and performances that showcase denim attire, symbolizing solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
- Beyond the fashion aspect, the LGBTQ+ Resource Center’s event will include guest speakers, educational materials, and resources to empower attendees and advocate for change. We believe that addressing these issues is crucial, especially within marginalized communities like the queer community.
- By bringing attention to these issues through an engaging and creative platform like a fashion show, we aim to foster conversations, promote education, and support survivors. In addition to this, we want to emphasize the importance of fashion autonomy within the queer community and condemn victim-blaming.
